about

"The last thing you see of this infected ship before it goes down is the song Stone Graves / Serpent Ropes. The album's most emotional, sad and melancholy song. Although it also provides enough space and weight for the listener to raise the fist. I think it is completed beautifully. It is not only the most beautiful song on the record, but possibly also the most beautiful in the entire band's discography. It's like a post-mortem edition of an Earth or Neurosis song.
It may not be Funeral Doom, but it is anyway Doom that associates funerals with good and bad. Even an identityless and lonely dauseiler (ghost ship) without purpose, hope or meaning deserves a respectful burial. Shepherds Crook thus gives Dauseiler a worthy conclusion beyond all expectation

This is exactly what I need in these winter times. Hopefully you will think the same after a listen or two."

8.7 out of 10
